Stoneware, raised-relief and transfer decoration. Award-winning wildlife
artist James A. Meger drew both full-color panels on this stein. A head portrait
of a mallard drake and hen is shown on one side of the stein, and the other side
shows the pair in full flight over a shoreline. Each panel is framed with an
elk-horn design border. The stein features raised-relief top and bottom bands,
consisting of pine cones, evergreen branches, oak leaves, and acorns. This
pattern is repeated on the relief pewter lid. The thumb lift is in the shape of
an oak leaf.
