|Drinking out of a woman's shoe is actually an odd tradition that began with a chivalrous act. At a very elegant party in which a prince was attending, there was dancing and fun galore. While one lady was dancing, her shoe flew off her foot, across the room and hit a wine glass resulting in wine spilling in the lady's shoe.
A gentleman instinctively picked up the shoe and drank the wine. On cue, the other gentlemen grabbed a shoe from the women they were dancing with, filled it with wine, toasted the prince and drank. Thus began the tradition of drinking from a lady's shoe. That really doesn't have anything to do with this boot beer stein. But, it was fun to recall!
A traditional European drinking vessel. This popular item is always an excellent topic of conversation. The secret to drinking from the boot is to point the toe sideways. When the toe is pointed downward, the boot cannot be easily emptied. When the toe is pointed upwards, the liquid flows out of the boot very quickly and uncontrollably, usually spilling all over the drinker. Mouth blown. 0.50 liter version.
